Maple Pecan Popcorn

For Maple Popcorn- 6 cups of popped popcorn
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 stick of butter
Candied Pecans
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp water
- 1/4 tsp maple syrup
- 1/8 tsp salt
Instructions
- Prepare popcorn
- For candied pecans, in a medium skillet over medium/low heat, toast pecans until fragrant (about 5 minutes)
- While toasting pecans, in a small bowl, mix brown sugar, water, maple syrup, and salt
- Remove pecans from heat and add maple sugar mixture, stirring constantly
- Once sugar mixture has hardened to pecans, spread on a baking sheet to cool
- In a large pot, melt butter, brown sugar and maple syrup
- Allow to simmer for 5 minutes
- Add 1 tsp baking soda and stir, mixture will expand
- Remove from heat, add popcorn, and stir until evenly coated
- Spread on a baking sheet to allow to cool and set
- Once everything has cooled, chop pecans into bite size pieces and mix into popcorn
